Hugues Cruchandeau est un pur produit made in Strasbourg. Repéré par Daniel Bourdages alors qu’il évolue en catégorie jeune, il intègre rapidement l'effectif de l'équipe fanion qui évoluait en Division 1 en 2004-2005. Finalement en 2005-2006, il finit champion de France de Division 1 et participe à la montée en Ligue Magnus de l'Etoile Noire. Depuis Cruchandeau n'a jamais quitté la capitale européenne et entame maintenant sa huitième saison avec l'Etoile Noire de Strasbourg. La régularité et la qualité, voilà ce qui compte pour le joueur.
